Several years ago I had the extreme joy of having my nieces to myself. Being western, high desert Sierra girls; I wanted to enjoy the eastern ocean with them. We camped and climbed Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.
I pestered the girls for photographs, I felt like I was fighting time for them. When I painted this watercolor study, I could clearly see the child that Tobi was leaving behind. This is nature, but always a surprise to see the young woman within.
