Wake Forest is a quaint little town that is slowly but surely growing an “art scene”. Most of the business, even the consignment clothing shop will host a guest artist. There’s a horse drawn wagon to convey you from one end of town to the other, and wine tastings at The Twisted Vine. There’s a plethora of artists and therefore art. Here’s a sampling of what I saw last night.
I started at Sunflower Studio, where I saw the marvelous art of Anne Howard, (one of my first collectors, thank you Anne and Joe!) I purchased a piece named Death Valley Sunrise. I’ll post an image of it later today.
After Sunflower, I crossed the street to visit my artist friend, Maureen Seltzer who was sitting in front of the NC Specialty Store and painting a sweet little floral. Hi Maureen!

I wandered down to the extreme south end of the street, (only about a 3 minute walk) and visited the installation of the Wake Forest Area Artists Studio Tour show. This lovely autumn tree is painted by Mary Benejam, that gorgeous seascape is by me, Kittie Deemer, and the 2 sweet water colors are by my friend, Susan Espin.

Kittie,
Thanks for including me in your blog. One critique though, I’ve seen your painting and it deserves a close up so everyone can see how truely beautiful it is. Here’s to a fun and fruitful tour this year!

Hey Kittie(and all),
I was looking around WFAA and discovered your website, and blog! I really like your very colorful pets, very original and artsy too. Your site looks great, and thank you for all of your work on the WFAA site. Thank you for all of the work you’ve done getting my art and the tour info posted. You are appreciated!!!
