How to Embue your paintings with light – FAST!

Do you look at great paintings, and wonder, “how did the artist get that beautiful illumination?” “how did the artist capture that morning light so brilliantly?”

I have the answer to that age-old question. It’s an LED headlamp.

Today I have my left knee “scoped”.  That catch-all phrase that can mean anything.  The shocking thing to me is that after my deductible is paid, I still owe money.  See the surgery is $8K.  The insurance company negotiates it down to $4k.  I pay $4K/yearly in premiums, but also have to pay $1500 deductible.  No wait!  There’s more.  I also pay a $3000 out-of-pocket fee.  I guess I better stay healthy or get really really sick this year to make it worthwhile.

In the meantime, don’t forget your headlamp to add light and illumination to all you do!

Help Wanted?

Every once in a while I get help. Sometimes it’s the well thought-out kind of help from someone who is caring, sometimes it’s the help I specifically request, and at other times it’s random help.

This time, though, it was help that was NOT requested, needed, nor desired! This is Jake. This is Jake in watercolor. Nope, not the painting of Jake I’m currently working on, but Jake eating the paint. I swan! They say that parrots are like feathered 2 year olds, and I believe they are absolutely right.

Thankfully, it wasn’t a large chunk and he was as anxious to spit it out as I was to have him spit it out! A forced mouth rinse, and all that’s left is a stain on his cheek patch. I’ll keep a close eye on him to make sure he’s safe, and there will be no more recess on mama’s lap while she’s working. The little brat.
